House of Lords Lunch

To celebrate the decision in 2009 of the overwhelming majority of the members of the London Club to invite female guests to all of our future functions, and to recognise the change of The Edinburgh Academy to a fully co-educational school, we held  a special Lunch at the House of Lords on November 13th 2009, to which all Accies and their wives/husbands or partners were most warmly invited.

The Lunch was kindly hosted by Lord Falconer or Thoroton QC (EA 1965-71), and was attended by 114 Accies and guests.

Lord Falconer spoke to welcome the guests, the Rector gave a short account of the first year of co-education at The Academy, and the keynote speech was given by Mrs Sally Kuenssberg, wife of NCD Kuenssberg (EA 1960-70).

The event was a huge success and there are plans to hold a similar event in the summer of 2011.

2010 Annual Dinner

The date for the 2010 London Dinner is Friday March 19th . It will be held, as usual, at the Caledonian Club, in Halkin Street, London SW1, at 18.45 for 19.00. Dress is black tie, or highland evening dress, and you are most warmly invited to attend. Guests, particularly female, are most welcome.
