2010  LEAC  Annual Dinner

The London Edinburgh Academical Club holds its Annual Dinner at the Caledonian Club, in Halkin Street, London SW1, on a Friday in late March or early April, at 18.45 for 19.15. All members of the Club are notified of this event by email where possible, or by physical mail. All Accies are most welcome, and they are encouraged to bring guests, male and female.

The Annual Dinner is a very convivial occasion which allows Accies of all ages to meet each other, and spans seven decades of life at the Academy. In recent years, we have seen a number of female Accies attending the Dinner, and they are most welcome. Typically, between 50 and 80 Accies attend the Dinner, and encouragingly,  20% of those attending are  in their twenties.

Last year's Annual Dinner was held on Friday 27th March 2009, at the Caledonian Club, and was Marco Longmore's  first London Dinner as Rector.

Our Principal Guest was Simon Mackintosh, Chairman of the Court of Directors of the Academy, who was also attending his first London Accie Dinner.

George Menzies (EA 1948-62), well known to many London Accies,  spoke after dinner.

The 2010 Annual Dinner will be held at the Caledonian Club, on Friday 19th March, at 18.45 for 19.00.

Our Principal Guest will be Major General David McDowall CBE, recently GOC 2nd Division, and Governor of Edinburgh Castle.

Invitations to the 2010 Annual Dinner have been sent by email or post to those Accies on the London database; other Accies who  would like to attend should contact Colin Cunningham, our Honorary Treasurer on 01276670804 or at accunningham@msn.com . We would be very pleased to see you at the Dinner.

A number of email addresses on our database have proved to be invalid during this year's mailing. If you have not received an invitation yet, please use this link to download a copy of the letter !
